'Contender' (Robert Jeffries, R. 1991). Seedling# J81-2-B. TB, 38" (97 cm), Midseason late bloom. Standards white tinted pale mineral violet at base; falls mineral violet (HCC 635), lighter area around hafts and saturn red (30/1) beard; pleated, laced; slight sweet fragrance. L. Rogers seedling# B18 X J79-1: (seedling# J70-14-A: (('Lovely Letty' x 'Whole Cloth') x 'Cloverdale') x 'Flaming Arrow'). Bar K Iris 1993.
