From Tell's Iris Gardens catalog, 1959: CHIPETA (Z. G. Benson, Wichita Falls, Texas). Early-Midseason. 32 inches. (Cordovan x Argus Pheasant). Here is a true chocolate-brown free of haft markings. CHIPETA is proving a great breeder for browns, tans and reds. This should be an ideal mate for DARK CHOCOLATE, BINGHAM, SPELLBOUND, BANG, MILLIONAIRE, RUTH COUFFER for coppers and browns and with some of the new reds for seedlings in this color. A good and easy grower. Plentiful stock. $10.00
