'Chinese New Year' (Joseph Ghio, R. 1996). Seedling# 91-23J. TB, 37" (94 cm), Late midseason bloom. Standards buckskin; falls blended rose, fuchsia, wine and tan; beards red. 'Jungle Princess' X 'Battle Royal'. Bay View 1997. Honorable Mention 1999; Award of Merit 2002.

From Bay View Gardens catalog,1997: CHINESE NEW YEAR, 37 inches, mid to late season. $35.00. Exotic and exoteric as its namesake. The domed standards are buckskin and the flaring falls a pleasing blend of rose, fuchsia, wine and tan. Red beards on semi-flaring falls . Light ruffling, great bud count and branching. Simple, yet involved breeding: No. 91-23J: Jungle Princess X Battle Royal.
