'Cheap' (Paul Black, R. 2007). Seedling L150A. TB, 32" (81 cm), Early to midseason bloom. Standards and style arms medium apricot; Falls pearl completely washed medium red-violet,3/8" mauve band rimmed taupe, large grape juice purple thumbprint hafts; beards dark orange; ruffled; slight spicy fragrance. Seedling I81C, 'Bold Encounter' sibling, X 'Sharpshooter'. Mid-America 2008. Honorable Mention 2012.

From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2008: CHEAP (Black 08) TB Early-Midseason. 32” (81cm) Apply loads of lipstick, eye-shadow, and rouge; then bleach the hair and you've got CHEAP. Upright and ruffled standards as well as styles are medium apricot-peach. Strongly flared falls are a washed silk blend of opalescent pearl-violet. Narrow plum-mauve bands terminate in startling dark grape hafts. Beards are dark orange. Three branches produce 7-8 buds. It's hard to ignore flowers so bright and bold. Sdlg.
