'Chasing Chaos' (Bailey Schiller, R. 2024). Seedling D6-1, TB, 35" (89 cm), Late midseason to very late bloom. Standards absent; style arms light violet; falls moderate purple (RHS 79D) overlaid plush black, white spray; beards yellow-orange; slight spicy fragrance. 'Chaos Theory' X 'Volcanic Glow'. Novelty iris. Smokin Heights 2024.

| CHASING CHAOS (Bailey Schiller 24 Aust) ML-VL 35” Bailey’s love affair with six-falled (flat) Tall Bearded Iris continues with this introduction. Falls are moderate purple overlaid plush black with a white spray pattern around yellow-orange beards. Light violet edged brown style arms protrude from the centre of the bloom. Occasional light violet streaks are caused by a chimera where the fall isn’t developed properly and expresses some of the standard colour. Show stems carry 9 buds on 2 branches with a spur. So far it has proven to be pod and pollen sterile, with it producing no pods to date. Alas, we still try every season. (Chaos Theory X Volcanic Glow) Sdlg no. D6-2 |
