1959, Babson

'Champagne Flight' (Sanford Babson, R. 1958). Seedling# G105-1. TB, 42" (107 cm), Midseason bloom. Champagne self, dark-brown reticulations at haft; faint blue streak at tip of beard, on opening. Seedling# E61-l x 'Figurine'. Melrose 1959.

From AIS Bulletin #153, April 1959: Introducing CHAMPAGNE FLIGHT (Sanford Babson) 42", The wings of flight are in the form and carriage of this huge, fluted, champagne-colored self. For added interest there are euphoneous dark brown veins over the upper half of the falls. 3 to 4 branches and sturdy growth habits. Net $20.00. Melrose Gardens.
