Of course, with my predilection for blues and purples, I really liked Captain Royal...It's a nice, round, large, slightly rumed bitone purple flower. [Reynolds, Mrs. Leo F., Tennessee (1949). Coming Events Cast Their Shadows, American Iris Society Bulletin 116(January 1950), 26.]
