1981, Hamblen

'Capricious' (Melba Hamblen, R. 1980). Seedling# H75-105G. TB, 32" (81 cm). Early to late bloom. Standards apricot (near RHS 24D); style crests same, flushed violet at lip; falls creamy white, dotted and stippled raspberry violet (74D to 8OA); full tangerine orange beard. Seedling# 71-154D: ('Betty Simon' plicata sibling x sibling) X 'Porta Villa'. Mission Bell 1981. High Commendation 1980 (seedling H75-105G); Honorable Mention 1983; Award of Merit 1986.

Lightly ruffled, domed standards of salmon pink; ruffled flaring falls of creamy white, dotted and stippled with raspberry violet. Large, wide-petaled flowers well spaced on strong stalks. (Betty Simon plic sib x B. Simon plic sib) X Porta Villa. HC '80. #H75-105G. Net $25.00. Mission Bell.
