'Calico Ruffles' (
Walter Moores, R. 1991). Sdlg. 85-30. TB, 34" (86 cm), Early to Midseason bloom. Standards violet purple, base lighter; Falls violet purple, lavender plicata hafts and veining extending to edge; beards yellow white, tipped purple; heavily ruffled; sweet fragrance.

Lavender plicata hafts blending to stonewashed falls of violet purple with yellow white beards, tipped purple. Stalks are well branched with multi-budded, ruffled flowers for a long season of bloom. - TB 'Calico Ruffles' was blooming at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, zone 4b, approximately May 29 - June 9, in 2017. Even though I didn't notice any Purple Based Foliage at the base of the leaves, there was purple coloring on the spathes. -- HollyJohnson2017 -04-01 - 13 Aug 2017
