'By Design' (Frederick Kerr, R. 2004). Seedling# 98-054D. TB, 35" (89 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards and style arms blue white infused darker, stigmatic lip blue; falls near blue-black, narrow lighter edge, strong white ray pattern beside beard; beards tangerine red. 'Romantic Evening' X 'Gallant Theme'. Rainbow Acres 2005. Honorable Mention 2007.

  • TB 'By Design' was blooming at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, zone 4b, approximately June 3-13, in 2017. It has Purple Based Foliage at the base of the leaves, and has purple coloring on the spathes as well. -- HollyJohnson2017-04-01 - 13 Aug 2017
