From Wallace Iris Gardens catalog 1955: BURMESE RUBY - (Muhlestein '49) M. L. 36 ln. Freshly opened blooms are a wonderful shade of richest garnet red with a bright orange beard. $1.50.
From Tell's 1949 catalog: BURMESE RUBY (Red Valor x Red Gleam) An unusual red with a jewel-like enamel finish. There is a slight smoky undertone in the falls. I feel it will be an important parent for reds. Height 36 inches. Midseason to late. HC (No. 46-122) 1948. $15.00
