From AIS Bulletin #149, April 1958. Introducing BRIGHT STARLIGHT (Beattie '58) (B. 50-61-1 X Mattie Gates) $25.00. This lemon plicata recessive has been one of the delights of our breeding work along these lines. Tightly held and swirled standards of soft lemon-cream. Flaring falls of ivory-cream-bordered lemon with smooth intensification of color at the haft. 32 inches tall and well-branched. Very heat tolerant. Old Colony Gardens.
From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: BRIGHT STARLIGHT (Beattie '58) M. 34 in. (Piic. Sdlg. x M. Gates). A very lovely, large recessive with stands of soft lemon cream and falls of rich ivory, bordered lemon. Extremely broad petaled and of semi-flaring form. 5.00.
