Awaiting original catalog description
From Iris Test Garden Catalog, 1955: BLUE RUFFLES. <Dr. A. J. Barton, 1954). Standards and falls are Roman Purple to Grape Juice Color as per Dictionary of Color; falls have underside of grayish white; edges heavily ruffled and flounced. Standards are ruffled on edges, same color as falls, but mid rib of standards shades to white at the haft. Well branched; flower placement very fine; large and holds color in hot sun. This commanding flower has nothing like it; in our exceedingly large collection of Iris it stands alone in its color. 38 inches tall; early to midseason. A novelty you will remember. $7.50
