'Blue Note'(Dorothy Palmer, R. 1964). Seedling# 3361B. TB, 36" (91 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-W1B, Blue-white self, blue beard. ('Tranquility' x 'White Bouquet') X ('Snow Ballet' x 'Blue Ensign') x 'Blue Throat').

From AIS Bulletin #185 April 1967 Introducing BLUE NOTE (((TRANQUILITY X WHITE BOUQUET) X ((SNOW BALLET X BLUE ENSIGN) x BLUE THROAT))) Beautifully formed, shimmering blue-white flower accented by a thick blue beard. A ruffled, heavily substanced self, wide of parts, with arched standards and semi-flaring falls. Good, well-branched stalks. A welcome addition to the small class of whites with blue beards. Beards really add zest to an iris. Midseason. 35". HC 1964. Net $25.00. Echo Hill Gardens.
