From AIS Bulletin #229, Spring 1978 Introducing BLISSFUL BALLAD-Sdlg. 7874A. (Sea of Stars x C. Benson 67-5A). An exquisite self of rosy orchid. The generously ruffled standards are tightly closed. The wide, frilly, flaring falls are deeply and precisely corrugated and have an amber glow at the haft. The yellow beard is accented by a small white arrow. A clean, satinfinished flower with good substance. It's a graceful iris of intriguing charm. Midseason, 35". $25.00. Echo Hill Garden. |
