From Sam Carpenter Garden catalog, 1927: BEAU IDEAL (Sass 1923). One of Mr. Sass' finest plicatas; white with an almost solid border of petunia-violet on both the standards and falls. 32". $4.00.
From Sarah Toedt’s Springtime Gardens catalog, 1929: BEAU IDEAL — Oval standards and falls having a wide petunia violet margin with some stippling on a white ground. A striking garden subject.
 
From Glen Road Iris Garden catalog, 1924: BEAU IDEAL (Sass 1924) — The white segments have a solid 1/2 inch border of petunia violet, flower large and of fine substance. 33 in. 10.00
