'Battle Fury' (Steve Varner, R. 1978). Seedling# V620. TB, 36" (91 cm), Early midseason bloom. Standards deep violet-blue; falls light violet-white; red-pink beard. Seedling# 120 X Rudolph seedling# 63-04. Illini Iris 1979.

From AIS Bulletin #232 Winter 1979 Introducing BATTLE FURY: TB, Sdlg. V620. EM, 36". (Involved blue/white reverse amoena and pink lines). A real red, white and blue garden effect. Stds. are deep violet-blue; falls are light violet-white, and the showy beard is red-pink. Excellently branched, 9 blooms. $25.00. Illini Iris.
