From AIS Bulletin #158, July 1960. Introducing AZURITE (H. Sass) M. 34 in. (Sass No. 49-59 X Dancing Waters). Large white ground plicata, lightly stitched on borders and with slight dotting of Methyl Violet. The styles and crests are dark Moorish Blue giving a very unusual effect. Three branches and terminaI. Fertile both ways. $20.00. Eden Road. |
AZURITE, from Henry Sass, could be described as an improved DOTTED SWISS, however, the dottings, applied with the same artistic touch, are not as heavy nor as intense in coloring. An easy grower, surrounded with an aura of charm. Melba Hamblen, "Honors, Review and Preview", A.I.S. Bulletin 164 (Jan. 1962): 15. |

From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: AZURITE (H. Sass '60) E.M. 34 in. (Piic No. 40-59 x Dancing Waters). Almost a pure white, this has a few minute specklings and sandings of blue around the throat. Its attraction is its rich blue style arms. H.M. 1961. 10.00. |
