From AIS Bulletin #237 April 1980 Introducing AUTUMN SONATA-Sdlg. 11274E: (Starring Role X Tomki). Reminiscent of the beautiful hues of Autumn, this iris is a sparkling golden honey tan. The opulent, fluted standards are gracefully arched. Even the stylearms are rippled. Expansively ruffled and corrugated falls are semi-flaring with matching beards. The heavily substanced blossoms can stand any kind of inclement weather. It's a graceful, full-formed flower on well-branched stems. Excellent growth habits. Truly an iris of captivating charm. Mid to late season, 36". HC 1979. $25.00. Echo Hill Garden. |
