APRIL LOST (Tompkins’86) E.M.L. 38 in. ((Casino Queen x Erika) x (Casino Queen x Mexicali)) X (Camelot Rose x Waymark) F2 x April Melody). A huge plicata that has created much attention here the last two years. One of the largest iris we grow, its petals are unbelievably broad. The color is a clear shade of light medium pink. The standards are clear and clean while the. falls have lovely plicata markings of a deeper apricot pink that washes or flows out in a minutely speckled ray-like pattern from around the light pink beard to the clean, heavily ruffled edges and this pattern is heightened by faint glimpses of a white base. We are most anxious to see seedlings from this with Queen in Calico, Beyond, Gigolo, Laredo and others. Sdlg. 81-38. $35.00. [Original Catalog Description, Fleur de Lis, 1986] |
