'April Eve' ( Chet Tompkins, R. 1956) Seedling 50-48. TB, 38" (97 cm). Midseason late bloom. Mulberry-violet self, undertone silvery rose; brown haft. ( 'Arethusa' x 'Rhapsody') X 'Mulberry Rose'. Fleur de Lis 1955.

From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: APRIL EVE (Tompkins 1955) ML. 38 in. (Arethusa x Rhapsody) x Mulberry Rose. A large, tailored flower of rich, glowing mulberry violet with chocolate red throat. Lovely. $1.00.
