References:

From R. Wallace Co. catalog, 1922: ANTONIO (Newlands, 1921). An early-flowering red-purple bicolor. The enormous flowers are erect and of splendid shape and colour. A handsome variety in every way. 3ft. C IV. 21/- each.
From Indian Spring Farms catalog, 1927: ANTONIO (Hort 1921). A large-flowered bicolor. S. light lavender-violet, erect; F. anthracene-violet with redder lights; haft, amber at the edges; beard conspicuous, orange tipped. Early. 36 inches. $2.50 each.
