Rockytop Gardens 2018 website offers the following description "ALMOST MIDNIGHT (Steve Kelly 2016) New Mexico. TB, ML, 36”. Steve is a very talented iris hybridizer and he is an equally talented selector. If you like the dark irises, this one is for you!!! The standards are full plum purple with matching style arms. However, the back sides of the style arms are yellow which add an interest to the inside of the flower. The broad falls are a darker, plush purple--almost black--with a satin finish. The bright orange-red beards draw attention in contrast to this very dark flower. Branched stalks average 7 buds.Seedling # CRD 09-2: (Crete x Decadence)" |
