'Al Segno' (Raymond G. Smith, R. 1975). Seedling 7333JR. TB, 30" (76 cm), Early to late bloom and rebloom. Deep violet (Nickerson 2.5P 3/8) self; deep blue beard; slightly ruffled. (( 'Allegiance' x 'Lovely Again') x 'Autumn Night') X (('Allegiance' x 'Lovely Again') x (123BR x Cook 12160 black)). R. G. Smith 1978.

From AIS Bulletin #229, Spring 1978 Introducing AL SEGNO. "Return to- the sign (of Spring)." A very tall, perfectly clean, slightly ruffled deep purple of a color resembling Matinata. Stalks and blooms are of show quality, but fewer stalks appear both Spring and Fall than on Re-Treat. Quite the best dark rebloomer I have seen. $25.00. Raymond Smith.
