'Red Step' (Tell Muhlestein, R. 1964) Seedling #61-4. SPU, 30" (76 cm). Midseason bloom. Reddish brown, Standards showing more rosy red than falls. 'Monteagle' X 'Bronze Butterfly'. Tell 1964. Honorable Mention 1965.

From Tell’s Gardens catalog, 1964: RED STEP (Muhlestein '64) M 30 in. (Monteagle x Bronze Butterfly) Standards appear quite red are reddish-brown (light Mahogany) while the falls are darker than the standards. A smallish flower on short stalks. I feel this is a real break for breeders. Fertile both ways. #61-4. $20.00
