1860, Lange

'Danica' (Collected by Johan Martin Christian Lange, 1860, Saltholmen, Denmark). Spur; Blue. "Produces one or two lateral heads of flowers as well as the terminal two-flowered spathe. These lateral heads are set far apart on the stem so the internodes are visible...May not be distinct from Algerian form" – Dykes, The Genus Iris 61.1913. Iris spuria L. var. danica Dykes.
