(SPEC) Iris japonica subsp. dalica Yen, Yang, & Waddick

1995, Botanical authors Yen, Yang & Waddick

'Dalica' (Yen, C., J. L. Yang and James W. Waddick, 1995, Dali County, Yunnan), Section Lophiris, (Evansia); height 20-24", (50-60 cm), Flowering stalks with 15-40 plus flowers, with the flowers upward facing. The margins of the falls are entire (smooth, no fine fimbriate teeth). The falls lack the pattern of radiating red-violet dots. As Iris japonica subsp. dalica Yen, Yang & Waddick, not officially published, but referred to in "Chinese Crested Irises", p.125-130, Gardening with Iris Species, Proceedings of an International Symposium. St. Louis, Mo. Iris japonica Thunberg.
