Section iris. Flowers dark violet, Standards somewhat paler than falls It has white veining in the throat, unlike
Iris aphylla. The beard is whitish yellow, and the spathes are slightly tinged with red-violet, like those of
Iris aphylla. Much branched.
Iris croatica I & M Horvat in
Acta Bot. Croatica, xx-xCxi. 8 (1962). Mathew lists it a synonym of
Iris germanica.
