Standards light violet-blue, shading to white at edge; Falls very dark violet-blue at haft, shading to light violet-blue at edge; white stylearms. Seedling 68-64-20 WS Nellie B-2 X seedling 70 Swirl 63-3-2-W-2. McGarvey 1979. Honorable Mention 1981.

From AIS Bulletin #232 Winter 1979 Introducing YANKEE DOODLE BOY (McGarvey). Siberian, 34". Sdlg. 73-70-20 Nellie B-1. S. light violet with white edges; F. very dark violet. Both F. and S. grade into lighter color, then white at their edges; stylearms are white. Flowers are big. Most importantly, this plant blooms after the 4th of July in Oswego, New York, and was named in relation to that holiday. Net $45.00. McGarvey. |
