From Joe Pye Weed catalog, 2002: UNCORKED - SIBERIAN. Schafer/Sacks (Seedling No. S96-73-1), 25", E. The genie is out of the bottle and there is no telling where it will go. The coloring of this iris defeats the color wheel. The falls are yellow, overlaid with blue and have large, round deep yellow signals. The standards are paler blue over yellow as are the styles which also have yellow tips. Depending on conditions, the flowers open and fade in a range of tones. Usually the blue brightens as it ages. The vigorous clump has smallish flowers, four blooms per stalk and many stalks per clump with the flowers held well above the foliage. (Sarah Tiffney sib x (Creme Chantilly x Warburton sdlg from Atoll, Ruffled Velvet and Butter and Sugar)) X Tom Schaefer. $30.00 |
