'Blue Burgee' (Currier McEwen, R. 1971) Seedling T2 67/4 Z. SIB (56± chrom), 15" (38 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards blue-violet (RHS 89C), velvety; Falls darker (89B), blue-violet (89A) blaze streaked yellow with white fringe. 61/Cas 22: ('Snowy Egret' x unknown) X 61/Cas 18: ('Blue Moon' x unknown). McEwen 1972. Honorable Mention 1975.

From AIS Bulletin #206 July 1972 Introducing BLUE BURGEE: 15", M. A burgee is a small pennant and this little sister is identical with BLUE PENNANT except for size. The 4" flowers and low height suit it for the front of the border. Good parent. $35. Currier McEwen.
