From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2005: WIDE OPEN - SOB, 11 " (28 cm), Midseason. Normally I would not introduce an iris with standards so Wide Open. This one is the exception. The Wide Open standards are strong and do not collapse. The symmetry is changed and presents a different look that is still very pretty. Highly ruffled standards and falls contribute to this unique form. Standards and styles are clear, bright, greenish chrome-yellow. Falls are the same with a white area around beards and widely spaced olive plicata veins over the hafts. Beards are white tipped glowing orange-yellow. Wide Open makes a very cheerful garden clump. Stalks have 1 branch and 3 buds. Sdlg. J3598: (Chanted x Black C137G) X Tingle $15.00. |
