Standards light lemon yellow, yellow green rib; Falls pale lemon yellow, intense spot of green gold; white beard tipped orange; pronounced sweet fragrance. Wright seedling# L85: ('Blue Trinket' x 'Cotton Blossom') X Wright seedling# L32: (('Pink Cushion' x 'Lenna M') x 'Amber Shadow'). Kirkland Iris, Riverdale Iris 1985. Honorable Mention 1989.

From AIS Bulletin #257 April 1985 Introducing STRAW HAT-Sdlg. 80-11-3. 12". Don't know if the form or the fragrance is the more exciting feature. Has short, round, extravagantly ruffled petals with heavy substance. Upright standards are light lemon yellow with a green rib. Horizontal falls are pale lemon with an intense green-gold spot. White beards are tipped orange. The strong lemon-lime scent really carries. We've set pods. Others have found fertile pollen. $10.00. Kirkland Iris Garden.
