'Squeal' (Thomas Johnson, R. 2009). Seedling# T141C. SDB, 10" (25 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards medium beetroot; style arms buff, red purple crests; falls velvety black cherry, paler edges veined near black; beards blazing orange; slight fragrance. 'Chemistry' X 'Clever'. Mid-America 2009.

| From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2009: SQUEAL (T.Johnson 09) SDB Midseason 10” (25cm). You'll Squeal with delight upon seeing a clump of these adorable little flowers. Their color impact is impressive given their size. Ruffled mid beetroot standards flow easily downward to velvety black cherry falls. Paler edges and near black veins add contrast. This rather sedate ensemble is brought to life by blazing orange beards, accented by a few short white veins on each side. Sdlg. T141C: sib to Fidget. $18.00. |
