(SDB) 'Smoky River'

1971, Jeffries

'Smoky River' (Robert Jeffries, R. 1970) Seedling# J66-D3-A. SDB, 14" (36 cm), Midseason late bloom. Standards blend of violet and blue, giving close to sea blue effect (Wilson 043/2); Falls blend of violet and brown, giving a tan effect; dark sea blue beard. 'Brownie' X ('Brownie' x 'Truce'). Kansas Rainbow Gardens 1971.

From AIS Bulletin #201 April 1971 Introducing SMOKY RIVER (Jeffries '71). Aril-med. 14". M-L in SDB period. Sdlg. J66-D3-A. Wisteria blue standards over light orange falls with full red-violet veining, pale blue signal and rim. Beard darker shade of wisteria violet. Lots of rich colors in this one. Branched with 3 to 5 buds. Brownie X J2764: Brownie x Truce. EC '69. $7.50. Kansas Rainbow Gardens.
