'Ocean Pearl' (Paul Black, R. 2008). Seedling# N301A. SDB, 15" (38 cm), Early to late bloom. Standards light blue, clear crystalline rim; style arms medium light blue; falls palest blue, white patch on either side of beards, fine light violet veins extending out 1/3 from haft; beards yellow in throat, white tipped yellow in middle, white at end; ruffled, lightly laced; slight spicy fragrance. Seedling# K328C: ('Near Myth' x 'Fires of Fiji') X seedling# K365B: (M. Smith seedling# 95-03B, sibling to 'Seafire' x seedling# I225G, sibling to 'Fires of Fiji'). Mid-America 2008. From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2008: OCEAN PEARL (Black 08) SDB Early-MidLate 15” (38cm). Ocean Pearl is extremely vigorous and instantly produces large clumps filled with bloom. Give it plenty of room. Ocean Pearl is light pearl-blue with slightly darker styles and veins around yellow to white beards. Each petal is ruffled and has a hint of lace. Fine crystalline rims glitter in the sun. Sdlg N301A: (Near Myth x Fires of Fiji) X (Seafire sib x Fires of Fiji sib.) $18.00.
