(SDB) 'Merry Maker'

1954, Douglas

'Merry Maker' (Geddes Douglas, R. 1953). SDB, 8" (20 cm) Late bloom. Deep magnolia purple self, bright orange beard. 'Minnie Colquitt' X pumila violet. Fairmount 1954.

NOTE: Originally registered IB 'Merry Maker' because of bloom time, but is considered SDB because of heigth.

Fairmount 1954 catalog gives "MERRY MAKER (Douglas 1954) E. Rich and colorful, this bright wine red has a brilliant yellow beard. Three well formed flowers with no crowding give this iris great garden value. 10 in. "
