'Celebrate' (Paul Black, R. 2007) Seedling L332A. SDB, 15" (38 cm), Midseason to late bloom. Standards silvery orchid, wide grape-purple plicata band, darker veins, dark grape-purple rib; style arms grape purple, tan edges; falls silver lightly washed orchid, wide grape-purple plicata haft and 3/8" band; occasional irregular purple veins from beard 1/3 way down; beards white base tipped dark brown, dark violet at end; ruffled; pronounced sweet fragrance. Seedling I274A: (seedling E125AA: (seedling B291AA x 'Pele') x seedling D190A: (seedling A172A x seedling B291A)) X seedling J260A: ('Wild Hair' x seedling E137DD: (seedling C137A x 'Chanted')). From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2007: CELEBRATE - SDB, 15" (38 cm), Midseason-Late. After this many generations of breeding, I'm ready to CELEBRATE! CELEBRATE has great eye appeal. Standards are medium silvery orchid with grape-purple plicata bands that have darker stitching and darker purple midribs. Falls are white washed light silvery lilac and banded iridescent red-grape which in turn has the same color stitching and some dotting inside it. Beards are very distinctive with 3 layers of color. The base is white layered with violet and then brown-black on top. CELEBRATE may be hard to describe but it is lovely to look at. Makes a stunning and colorful clump. Great parent. Sdlg.
