'Brown Spectacle' (Walter Welch, R. 1976). Seedling K-539. SDB, height 12-14" (30-36 cm), Early bloom. Dark brown with darker spot on Falls. 'Fior Del Mondo' X unknown. Riverdale Iris 1977. Honorable Mention 1978.

Note: Registered SDB; Reference introduction shows MDB at 8".

From AIS Bulletin #225 Spring 1977 Introducing BROWN SPECTACLE (Walter Welch). MDB, 8", Sdlg. K-539. (Fior del Mondo X unknown). Dark brown self with a darker spot in the falls. True browns are scarce in the miniatures, and this is a fine addition to the class. $6.00. Riverdale Iris Gardens.
