'Blazing Bonnet' (George Galer, R. 1971). Seedling M-67-9-2., R. SDB, height 12" (30 cm), Late midseason bloom. Standards blood red, only more plum-toned (closest to RHS 187C); falls red (closest to RHS 187B), with black-red spot over most of falls; lavender-tipped brown beard. B. Jones seedling M-131-10 (('Red Rockette' x seedling M-64: ('Daybreak' x pumila)) X seedling 25M: ('Merry Maker' x ('Carpathia' x seeedling C-46)) x 'Velvet Caper'. Galer 1972. High Commendation 1971.
