Hybridizer's Comment: " (...)One of the best formed flowers in the garden at that time was the white SDB 'Daisy', of Cleo Palmer's.There weren't too many good plicatas and the most vigorous and clean in my garden at the time was 'Concord Touch' of Willott's. The cross ('Concord Touch' X 'Daisy') was made. I wasn't expecting a finished product from this cross but neither was i expecting the multitudes of muddy, ugly seedlings that bloomed; I made myself number one seedling that had fuller, more ruffled form than any of the rest and showed some plicata influence at the haft. Conjure up the color of the swamp ground and you've got the color. If the project was going to move forward, i had to make this choice and trust that the wished for creation would appear in subsequent generations(...) from Paul Black's article about Chubby Cheeks, in the MEDIANITE- SPRING 2008.
