'Artistic License' (Paul Black, R. 1986). Seedling 83149A. SDB, 14" (36 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards pale smoky blue with greenish cast at midrib; falls smoky grape with grey veins blended from beard to grey edge, amber gold hafts; lavender beard, yellow in throat; ruffled; pronounced sweet fragrance. Seedling B80-13: ('Cindy Mitchell' x 'Velvet Pride') X 'Joyous Isle'. Mid-America Iris 1986.
