'Los Gatos' (Joseph Ghio, R. 1973). Seedling #PZ-144D. CA, 10" (25 cm), Early bloom. Slate violet self, slight yellow thumbprint on falls. 'Lompico' X 'Violet Elf'. Bay View Gardens 1974. Honorable Mention 1975; Mitchell Award 1979.

Exposure Prefers full sun for optimal performance, may still bloom in half-day shade
Water: Prefers well drained but moist good garden soil, More tolerant of dry conditions in established plants, Needs swampy conditions especially in Spring bloom season.
PH Prefers Acid solis 6.1 to 7.0, intolerant of limy soils
Fertilizer tolerant of poor soils.
