1984, Machulak 'Maya Melody' (Audrey Machulak, R. 1984). Seedling 10-80-7. MTB, 19" (48 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards violet, tiny gold edge; falls pale violet, deeper spot, champagne edge; red beard; slight fragrance. 'Pink Kitten' X seedling #73-77: ('Hammered Copper' x unknown). Riverdale Iris 1984. High Commendation 1983; Honorable Mention 1986. See below:

| From AIS Bulletin #253 April 1984 Introducing MAYA MELODY (Audrey Machulak) MTB, 19", M. Pleasing succession of violets rhythmically rings out the sounds of Maya Melody. S. violet, edged with tiny strands of gold, adding harmony to the violet falls. Rhythm is regulated by a pale violet spot appearing ever so delicately. Red beards increase the tempo, and an added chord is the 3 buds appearing on each stalk. HC 1983. $7.50. Riverdale Iris Gardens. |
