'Dottie Joy' (Jean Witt R. 1987). Seedling# 79-05-UW. MTB, 21" (53 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards warm white ground, flushed and sanded orchid (Munsell 7.5P 4/10); style arms blended yellow and orchid; falls white ground, sanded orchid; yellow-orange beard; pronounced sweet fragrance. Seedling #73-11-KC: ('Dottie' x "Joy") X 'Shady Sands'. Kirkland Iris 1990. Honorable Mention 1992.

| From AIS Bulletin #277 April 1990 Introducing DOTTIE JOY (Witt) MTB, 21", M. Sdlg. 79-05-UW: 73-11-K: (Dottie x Joy) X Shady Sands. A decidedly pink looking plicata achieved by sanding orchid all over an ivory cream background. Even the styles are blended cream and orchid. Beards are a pretty yellow orange color. Size and proportion fit the class nicely, and there are five buds. Add a pronounced sweet fragrance and enjoy. $15.00. Kirkland Iris Garden. |
