'Himebotaru' (
Carol Warner, R. 2014) SPEC-X (pseudata), 39" (99 cm), Early to midseason bloom. Standards creamy white, very small; style arms light lemon-yellow, tips very lightly veined lavender; falls white, signal bright yellow veined deep wine, deep wine eyelash halo.
'Gubijin' X mixed JI pollen, plant from Hiroshi Shimizu. Draycott 2014.

From Draycott Gardens catalog, 2016: Himebotaru (Hiroshi Shimizu, 2014) 35". The falls on this variety are more round than the other introduced whites and I think the white is more of a pure white than the others. It has proved to be very vigorous and a heavy bloomer. Once in a while it will produce flowers with five falls and five style arms. Oh, how I wish it would do that all of the time. $20.00 |
