'Calsata hybrids'. (Tomas Tamberg, 1979). "Sterile plants from the cross of Iris douglasiana X Iris ensata ( Iris lactea 'biglumis' ) or Iris ensata (now Iris lactea)moorcroftii respectively. They are hardy, semi-evergreen and drought resistant irises with a long flowering period and flowers very much intermediate between the parents."-Tomas Tamberg p.52. The Iris Year Book 1979. ( Iris ensata Dykes is now Iris lactea). Iris douglasiana Herbert X Iris lactea Pallas].
