Standards violet shades, bluer (RHS 8A to 86D) at tip; style arms translucent cream, yellow midrib; Falls white at tips, violet (86B to C) at center, signal heavily marked purple and maroon dots and dashes; slight fragrance. Probst 88XPBNXVL-2-30 X unknown. 2015 Joe Pye Weed.

From Joe Pye Weed catalog, 2015: AUGUST AFFAIR- '15, 43", M, SPEC-X (Schafer Sacks). The strongest grower and clump maker of any pardancanda we've grown. The extensive branching starts low on the stalk, presenting bloom all over. Falls are a delicate purple on a white ground showing large white tips. The signals/hafts are typically speckled, spotted and dashed. Standards have a bit more pink to them and styles are cream with yellow midribs. Flower form is intermediate. Over 300 buds per stalk. Slight fragrance. Parentage: Probst seedling OP. $25.00 |
