2007, McMurtrie

'Approaching Storm' (Alan McMurtrie, 2007). Seedling 89-AC-4. SPEC-X, Subgenus Hermodactyloides , Reticulata hybrids (not registered with AIS). Parentage sophenensis x danfordiae ANM2325. For more about Reticulata Irises see Alan McMurtrie's website.

Note: Not to be confused with the TB 'Approaching Storm'.

Iris sophenensis x danfordiae 'APPROACHING STORM' (89-AC-4) 2007 Style lobes dark grayish blue, the blue tone of the falls combined with a bit of yellow gives very strange grayish appearance. Very unusual colour remembering dark clouds before storm. Ridge light yellow with white stripes on sides.
