1971, Brown

'Baby Bee' ( Alta Brown, R. 1970). Seedling #D 851-7. MDB, height 5" (13 cm). Early midseason bloom. Bright canary yellow (Wilson 2/2) with small dark brown spot on each side of ivory beards. Seedling #D 511-3: (seedling #D 337-1 x 'Brownett') X 'April Var'. Brown's Iris Gardens 1971. Honorable Mention 1973.

From AIS Bulletin #201 April 1971 Introducing BABY BEE. 5". EE. A flaring, bright canary yellow pumila with small twin spots of dark brown, near black below the ivory beard, like wings of a small bee. Bright and showy. No. 0851-7 (0511-3 pumila sdlg. X April Var). $5.00. Brown's Iris Garden.
